Kristen (nickname: “Perky”) is a matchmaker, constantly scouting to find the right land, for the right developers, upon which to co-create the right (self-sustaining) communities.
Driven by a deep concern for the health of our planet—and we, the people on it—Perky loves her primary role at daVinci Community Development (
www.daVinci.green) where Building Bioregional Resilience means, well,
the world.
Resilience requires (r)evolution—in four areas essential for human life: - SHELTER: build with superior and sustainable construction materials and methods (applies to new build & renovation)
- POWER: Produce and store your own energy (integrate during DESIGN PHASE)
- FOOD: Incorporate on-site community food production
- WATER: Conserve and keep clean the water supply
From a single-home renovation project…to a camp of tiny homes…to an entire city's comprehensive 10-year plan—these are the critical aspects that must be integrated.
Chronologically, Perky's real estate career started in the 90s when she bought, rented, and sold a few houses in her home state of Wisconsin. Then—oblivious to the wider market—her move to FL in 2007 taught a hard lesson; being “underwater” was not just an aquatics term. As a solutions-oriented gal, Perky’s observation of the bounceback after the crash inspired her to earn a Florida real estate license in 2018. Finally (after 10 years of pining to be in Colorado), in 2020 the first of her Colorado homes was excitedly purchased and is being lovingly (r)evolutionized in Longmont. A real estate license and an investment property in Trinidad were soon added to her Colorado-Proud Portfolio.
Today, Perky is on a mission to move sustainability into construction and resilience into communities—as quickly as people awaken to the necessity.
